What Is A Green Realtor?

This is my 5th National Association of Realtors designation and the one I am most excited about! I was able to earn this designation after completing course work designed specifically for Realtors, created in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of industry experts from across the country; ensuring designees gain comprehensive knowledge of high performance properties and issues of resource-efficiency in relation to real estate and home owners.

Why Work with a GREEN Realtor?

More specifically, I was trained to understand how to help clients evaluate the cost/benefits of resource-efficient features and practices, distinguishing between industry rating and classification systems, listing and marketing green homes and buildings, discussing the financial grants and incentives available to homeowners, and understanding how buyer and seller preferences may be inspired by resource-efficiency.

Realtors who have earned the Green designation are proficient in all aspects of green real estate, including:

  • Low-cost fixes and big-budget remodels to increase your home's energy efficiency
  • The benefits smart home technology can offer you as a homebuyer or seller
  • How affordability and walkability impact consumer decisions to buy a home
  • Earning green home certifications like Energy Star and LEED

As an Accredited Buyer Representative and Seller Representative Specialist I have the expertise to help buyers navigate homes with owned or leased solar panels, solar power purchase agreements and to effectively help sellers price homes with owned or leased solar panels or make valuable energy efficiency upgrades to their property.

The Go Book for Better Home Building and Renovation
