READOne feature I particularly appreciate is the ability to create free alerts for your town(s). This allows me to get real-time notifications when new meetings or updates are posted. It's an easy way to stay updated on local matters without having to search for meeting minutes or announcements. Whether it's a discussion on a new housing development, zoning changes, or school policies, I can be notified as soon as it happens.
However, it’s important to note that while LocalLens is a great tool, it doesn’t capture every local government meeting, and the AI-driven summaries can sometimes miss details or make errors. For example, if I see an alert for a new zoning proposal in West Newbury, I’ll check the summary on LocalLens to get a quick overview, but I always follow up by reviewing the original meeting minutes or contacting local officials for confirmation. I find it’s best for a quick glance at what’s going on and then verify anything that might directly impact my clients or my community work.
Still, it's a great starting point to stay informed and proactive, especially in my role as both a realtor and a community member. It allows me to get a sense of what’s being discussed in town and helps me provide timely advice to my clients—whether they’re looking to buy, sell, or invest in West Newbury. I also use it to ensure that I’m aware of any developments that might affect the neighborhood and advocate for the community where I live and work.
If you’re someone who cares about staying informed in your town, I highly recommend using LocalLens. It’s free, easy to use, and provides a great way to get quick updates about the local government decisions that matter. Just remember, always verify critical information through the original sources to ensure you have the most accurate and up-to-date details.
